I dunno what it is with bands from my neighboring country. They are just like a magnet. You listen, you watch, and you get hooked. They are definitely more attractive and interesting than bands from my country. I am generally very open to all types of music, if they can catch my attention, and has got a cool melody, deep lyrics and thumping bass/beat. I listen to all, but this one band (yet another) has pulled me in as one of their 'fans berat' (huge fan). Ungu (=purple) brings fun yet dark and contemporary rock music. Their lyrics are mostly teen social themed. Their music tempo some are fast and bangin, and some are slow and haunting. Similar to Peterpan (my first love to Indon band) but like a slightly younger genre. Pasha (in the mid with hands in his pockets in above photo) the vocalist caught my eyes because he is just (what else) cute. Another one which I dig is Enda (lead guitarist). I got to know about them from Peterpan (PP) vcd where Ungu was featured as one of PP's friends. And quite awhile after that I heard their song in the Indo Top Ten on astro. And even before I heard their music, I somehow know that I should watch out for them. And I was right! Ok, enuff..Just read about em yourself. www.unguband.com. Their latest album 'Melayang' (=flying) is great. I esp like 'Ciuman Pertama' (very rockin). And I'll get to watch em live at this concert I'm going to soon. Hurrah! Can't wait..
