Field Trip
I had the 'privilege' to visit my hubby's step family near Lumut, Perak, last few weekends. The occassion was pakcik Zul (the head of the family - hubby's step father) bought a new house, and this was sort of a party to inform people of the new home along with a thankful prayers with the family (khenduri kesyukuran). I hadn't seen the family since our wedding, so this invitation was a good way of revisiting 'old friends'. We plan to overnight at Teluk Batik (the beach at Lumut) while we there, so it turned out to be a nice lil getaway. The whole family partying thing was not that fun, coz I didn't know many of them, but thank God they are the friendliest bunch. A few grandmas even came up to me and started interviewing me, as they seem so fascinated by a stranger..We had lunch and the party was for dinner. The new house, is very beautiful. Small but fancy. Fancy as in it's fixtures, which quite impressed me. Check out the main living room's ceiling lights fixed upon the plaster 'dome'.

And I was fed well..Kampung style cooking is interestingly delish. Late that night, the daughters of the house had planned for a surprise birthday party for the mom. And I enjoyed them including me as I sang the birthday song away. The cake was also homemade (gift from one of the daughters-in-law), which was chocolate, so that's GOOD. I helped snap some photos and here are the precious mom
