Stttrrrretched

I took Mon and Tue off, so it was a nice long weekend. And I didn't waste time at home, but met up with one of my gal pals for dessert/hi-tea. I've heard of this interesting makan place where chocolate is used as substitute for tomyam/chicken stock soup in steamboat..Ha..have I gotten your imagination running wild? Well you've probably heard of it, as it's not that new in KL. The Fondue House. Me and my friend had fun that I forgotten to snap some pics while we were there! But I managed to grab some from the internet..This fondue business is also an interesting new concetp for dessert! Fresh fruits and even cake dipped into warm melted chocolate..OK, picture speaks louder than words here..
OK I don't know why the strawberries turned out blue in the pic, but it's the normal red ya..

On Tue, I indulged into the burger world of Burger King. I sunked my teeth into the Mushroom Swiss burger which is to die for. And my lunch partner Salina had a cool Whopper Jr..And the conversations dragged to almost 2pm, when she had to dash back to work..whilst I roam around KLCC happily ;-)

Weekend Indulgences

I love when Friday arrives. Coz Friday I usually put 5% effort to work, and the rest to thinking which restaurant to savour my taste buds at..considering the 2 hrs lunch hour. And since it was also pay day, we decided upon a little luxury. The Coast in Alamanda. Similar to TGIF or Chilis, but more Mexican-y. Our starter and my main dish were good, but the best was of course, our dessert :-p Nothing weird or new, just brownies with ice-cream.. It was absolutely heavenly..
Then weekend came. I have made up my mind to shop a lil. Convinced hubby to get up a lil early to visit 1U. My fav mall. We arrived at noon, but still got parking at one of the upper levels..It was a fun day, then after, we drove out, and had to stop for coffee of course.

On Sunday, my hubby who was still in the mood to spend money, asked to go to KLCC. That's always fine by me. It was SALE everywhere, including my Isetan. A short walk around, our stomach growled, and we decided upon Dome. It was 4pm, so there were plenty of free tables outside, which was good, as we sat, had our lunch-ner quietly, while people-watching.

Vamps and Werewolves

Underworld 2 -Evolution. Yup, I got to watch it the other day. The movie makes me wanna be a vampire..Lustrous & sleek..And to look great in tight leather suit :D The story so dark yet powerful with its touching moments, about half human half animal living underworld, yet with very human emotions. Kate Beckinsale is one of the most talented and gorgeous actress in hollywood, and after Underworld 1 it's no reason to find elsewhere for a great heroine for the sequel. The fight scenes are not the greatest but pretty amusing as she WAS fighting werewolves with sharp sneering teeth and twice her size, and she also had to protect her boyfriend ;-\ Although it should be the other way around, I love watching women kick ass. And seeing women superheroes just get my adrenaline rushing, knowing I could do that too! Hah. The next one I can't wait to see is UltraViolet. This one's with Milla Jovovich. Another power chick, with the futuristic facial features. The poster for this movie shows how lean and mean she is. The other poster in the pic is of the Indon movie Garasi about local bands struggling to do what they love, and while doing that falls in love..nyeah, maybe I'll just get the CD for tht.. We decided to relive our dating days and sat to have coffee. We ordered chilled ones, but got them hot, but since we had time to chill and sip, it was no biggie..infact, it was nice.

Field Trip

I had the 'privilege' to visit my hubby's step family near Lumut, Perak, last few weekends. The occassion was pakcik Zul (the head of the family - hubby's step father) bought a new house, and this was sort of a party to inform people of the new home along with a thankful prayers with the family (khenduri kesyukuran). I hadn't seen the family since our wedding, so this invitation was a good way of revisiting 'old friends'. We plan to overnight at Teluk Batik (the beach at Lumut) while we there, so it turned out to be a nice lil getaway. The whole family partying thing was not that fun, coz I didn't know many of them, but thank God they are the friendliest bunch. A few grandmas even came up to me and started interviewing me, as they seem so fascinated by a stranger..We had lunch and the party was for dinner. The new house, is very beautiful. Small but fancy. Fancy as in it's fixtures, which quite impressed me. Check out the main living room's ceiling lights fixed upon the plaster 'dome'.
And I was fed well..Kampung style cooking is interestingly delish. Late that night, the daughters of the house had planned for a surprise birthday party for the mom. And I enjoyed them including me as I sang the birthday song away. The cake was also homemade (gift from one of the daughters-in-law), which was chocolate, so that's GOOD. I helped snap some photos and here are the precious moments. Our chalet in TelukBatik was very modest, kampung style huts, but it was OK. We woke up that morning after heavy rain the night b4, and was informed that there was minor flood around the area. No wonder the sea was rough and dirty. Glad we had the time to play body surfing in the rough sea just for the sake of being in the ocean. And didn't forget to have a quiet lunch by the beach and a good teh tarik before we head home. Our drive back was fast and smooth..It was a much getaway.
