The past few weeks

Ok I am compiling my activities for the past weeks into one post. Getting lazy..huh. Nah, just a lil backdated..so this'll make things faster.
First, I fell into sis in law's pujuk rayu (haha no la) to go Jusco member sale at our Alpha Angle branch. Yeahh, it was fun, lotsa ppl no doubt, but got stuff for pretty cheap and not to mention redeemz of vouchers..yeehaa.

Then, the next few days, hungout with dearest Mimi. She ajak me dinner at her home. Which turned out to be one of the most delighful and delicious dinner I have ever had. Yeah, she just whipped some simple roasted chicken, complete with salad and mushroom sauce. And it took her no time at all to prepare. So cool. Then we watched tv, it was Thursday which was a good tv night.
Then, it was Daddy's birthday! Pu3 bought a cute cake for dad to cut that evening. Which was cool to see dad blowing candles..Yeah, gotta do more of this..And we got him Crocodile casual shoes!
That weekend, dragged B to The Curve again. Becoming our fav hangout, what with awesome beef fry at Sakai and the flea market. We have been comfy watching flicks at the Cineplex as well. That afternoon before the movie "The Reaping", we discovered a laid back kopitiam at the G flr of the Cineplex. I had curry noodle, and B had black chicken rice. And of course authentic chinese coffee. That evening, after the movie, (yeah, we spent half a day there) we had dinner at Sakai of course. This time B ordered the seafood platter (sorta) which is so unique, and huge. (sorry not a good pic)
Then, that weekend, my folks were outta town. And I dunno what has gotten into me, but since dinner at Mimi's I have been craving to cook roast chicken! Eck..so weird. So I did. Bought the ingredients, I added spaghetti into the menu, coz that was another thang I crave to make. Came home, sweat myself in the kitchen. And walla! My spaghetti (used Prado mushroom sauce, hah!) came out perfect. But my chicken..argh..I blame it on the toaster oven. Hah! Imagine trying to roast a chicken in a toaster oven! Yeah...that's the closest I got as an oven at home..Sad..But B ate his heart out..Also forced my bro and sis to eat them too hehe...such a bully..

Mom and dad went to Bandung for 4D3N. They came back with Dewa 19 latest CD - Kerajaan Cinta! Wohooo, altho this CD only contains 2 new songs, it was always nice to have original album of my idols..always luv Dewa's symbols..

The next few days I was to replace ND to attend this project dinner at Avanti Italian Restorante at Sunway Resort. I was quite delighted, because the last dining experience I had there was a good one. The buffet selection wasn't that much, but very high quality and quite delicious. Well, call me for free dinner at Avanti anytime..

You must have heard or seen the shoe brand Crocs. They are so cute especially on kids. I been wanting to get one myself, but haven't found a good color. Yea, the crocs comes in many striking colors which are not easy to match. Until I saw this dark olive green mary janes! Yess!

Me and hubby went and watched Spidey3. It waaas...ok. Storyline is not tht great. The villains are also not to impressive. And I'm officially tired of Mary Jane..Heheh never really liked Kirsten Dunst.

Novotel KL

Me and family LOVE to eat chinese food especially dimsum. I read in this ad, that the chinese restaurant in Novotel KL has this Saturday DIM SUM buffet for RM38++/pax. Sounds good. I made reservations for us the other day and headed over. The buffet goes from 1130am - about 4pm. We arrived at about 12noon. Novotel by Jalan Kia Peng is almost hidden and I have never knew it exists there. Looking new, it is pretty fabolous in its decor and location. The parking in the basement are SOOO narrow though. I was driving mom's Civic with intense care..the parking seems to only fit a Kancil maybe. Ergh, can't imagine how the many mercedez and BMWs in the lot had theirs fitted in. Novotel is almost like boutique hotel with very modern yet funky furnitures. Each and every piece seem to picked exclusively and custom made. The Qing Zhen chinese restaurant has a different atmosphere. Walking in we felt like we were in a chinese restaurant in Turki or some mediterranean country. It explodes with muslim contemporary art and designs. Very nice. We had a good table by the window (almost) facing Jalan Sultan Ismail. The restrnt manager (I think, by his immaculate blazer suit) was friendly enough to greet us and explaining their spread that day. The waiter was a patient chap who was very knowledgeable in the delicacies offered there, and gave us good reccommendations. . Even Eiman enjoyed the fishball dimsums, and Emir the tasty fried rice. Apart from the dimsum set, the RM38 included a long list of main courses which we can pick and choose. Great idea. We ate till we almost exploded. I was glad, coz I know mom and dad been wanting to have dimsum and chinese generally for awhile. Before we left, we took the opportunity to visit the restroom of course. And it was as squicky clean and shiny as expected. We were satisfied customers. Returning customers maybe.

An evening with a rainbow

As a Nidjiholic, it was just natural that I was at the front row of their showcase recently in Ruums. Nidji or rainbow in Japanese is one of the many indo bands I dig. With my head still spinning from winning these tixx, I was all set to rock to Breakthru'. A few good buddies tagged along, which made the evening very exciting. As the showcase was sponsored by Channel V and Astro, the emcees for the night was Joey G (gorgeous!) and Nana (from Brreak Astro Ria). We saw Maya Karin as well who did an enclosed interview earlier. Everybody packed in at 745pm. The show only started at about 830pm. The band members look so shy but sweet. Giring came out last, with his trademark scarf and jacket appearance gave an awesome performance. They only rocked 7 songs, a few which were mixed differently, including a fast version of Hapus Aku and a beautiful accoustic version of Bila Aku Jatuh Cinta. For one, Giring's showmanship is one that I have never seen. He sings with his heart, intensely moving his whole body in synch with the meaning of the lyrics. Totally intense. Rama and RunD glanced shyly to the audience, but did an awesome job on their guitar and keyboard. Ariel (he wants it pronounced Arial), looked cute like a schoolboy, played his lead guitarist role with similar intensity but mostly controlling his poise. It was hard, to sing along and to record a video at the same time. So I had to sacrifice one. I chose to rock and sang of course! After they had sang a few, Giring intro the band members, which I think is good..RunD seems to be most comical. As usual, the show ended way to fast. This was not the end of the night. We got hungry, had a hard time deciding where to hang. While debating below the escalator of Ruums, Ariel walked down. We stopped and got pics with him in a sec. Then we decided to walk out to grab a bite. None of us were ready to head home. We chatted, mostly again debating where to go next, as the joint were getting boring. Ok, here starts the story of a stalker (again). We decided to bet our luck, and walk to Concorde, where we know Nidji's staying in. Maybe check out HRC if anything's good. The lounge were loud with some 80's music played by the house band (I think). Real cheesy and doesn't look good. All outta ideas, we walked in the coffee house. Sat and still clueless of what to do, we ordered coffee. Hoping something interesting would happen, true enuff, Giring walked in the cafe! He looked different with his curly hair tied back. He was having the supper buffet, walked pass our table, realize that a few stalkers were there, he looked at us. I said Hi, and he came by to our table. How cool is that?! He started chatting......modestly and very friendlily..heh. And..surprisingly..in awesome American english accent. I SO can relate! So admirable..never knew this! Before, I had to brush up on my Indo vocabs just to make sure the chats with the rockstars were smooth, but this time, it went on naturally. Giring seems to be very open and easygoing. We joked, he joked, and even after we left him to eat and stalked him back for autographs before we leave, he was still all smileys and warm. He was with Warner Music marketing lady, whom surprisingly was cool about us too. Well,we don't know if they were discussing serious business deals, but it seems that our existence didn't distract anything. The cafe was OURS. The few patrons there didn't care about Giring as much as we did. Haha. So after the fruitful chat, we said our goodbyes with heavy feet. Arghh. another idol to love..! Pics are also courtesy of Lyn..thanx banget for partying wif me y'all!

More pics here! (I have to apologise for the poor quality of the vid snippets, I was standing near the speaker..wooh)

I won something!

I heard from the radio that Nidji was coming to town. Logged on to the radio website immediately and found the contest section. Sent an entry. The next day while I was at Cyberview Lodge attending training, I got a call. By the way those ponds are Cyberview's landscape infront of the training room..hehe..cosy huh. I walked outta the conference room. As soon as the girl from the other line told me she was from Channel V, I screamed. Arkk..Luckily she did tell me she called coz I won the tixx! Wohooooooooooooooooo. The girl on the other line, Natalie, laughed and asked me how many tixx I needed? Er...I said 6. She answered, "How about I give you 10?" I screamed again..A few days later, I dragged Lyn to go pick up the tixx at Channel V office in PJ. I been listening hard to Nidji lately, and what a coincidence they decided to come down to KL and WHAT AN HONOUR I won tixx to watch em!!!!! Ironic again that Heaven is my fav song at this time, and I was in 'heaven'..Tell u all about the showcase in my next post!!!
