Isn't it ironic?
My french nickname is Mounique (haha). Recently I was sent to Munich for training. Isn't it ironic? Never in my life did I imagine getting this opportunity. I'm SO blessed. The city Munchen, as they call it in Germany, is an awesome city. Truthful, clean, historic and gorgeous. Haha, truthful u asked? Their train system (or lrt) don't have boom gate at the entrance. Meaning, u can walk in and out of the stations and hop on the trains without any barricades to scan your tickets. So u can get free ride if u want to. But of course, everybody here buys the ticket. And their day/group passes allow groups like us to travel so easily and economically. We didn't need to catch a single cab. Altho their cabs are Mercedez..sigh. Perfectly structured transportation system. Men who look like CK models. Erk..got side tracked there..hehe.
Journey to the destination is an exciting experience by itself. After all, u can't complain travelling in Business class.
Seats are wider, service is more specialised, and food are served on table cloths! Lufthansa aircraft and service are nothing to shout about tho. Inflight movie selections are kinda outdated. I mean, Happy Feet, Dejavu and Casino Royale? Come on.. I caught on some sleep. Transit in Bangkok
, then Frankfurt. Bangkok's new international airport is quite nice. High ceiling, all aluminium and grey. Made me feel like I'm in mothership or a space station.
Munchen looked rather dull from the sky.
Mid March, spring hasn't kicked in, and winter was just leaving, trees were naked from leaves. Surroundings seem rather gloomy and cold. The sun shined bright which brighten up the day. The hotel location was also dissapointing. Surrounded by apartments and industrial buildings, and far from town.
The train station is just 3mins walk away, which is goood. The room's rather small, but OK for me alone. Bathroom has the necessary amenities.
First day out to town was very exciting.
One colleague who had already arrived the day before brought us to the ways of the train transportation. It was a challenge at first as they have 10 lines at least. So the train map was extremely useful. The train routes covers or reaches to all destinations you want to go in Munchen. The city, restaurants are gorgeous with immaculately old feel but modern facilities. I understand now why people always say Europe is the most romantic region to visit. Everywhere u turn is a historic picture waiting to be captured.

Almost forgot to tell ya about my training. Yes, I am there for a training called IP Telephony. It's a new project my co is applying a new telephone system which is also an IP telephone which can be integrated as instant messaging system and more. The training is alright, but the trainer is even better..hehe..my buddies will know what I mean..
The weather and temperature while I was there was nice. The 1st few days, it was rather cold, so my winter jacket was very useful. The rest of the week, it got warmer, and a thick sweater with scarf was enuff to keep me warm.
Downtown Munchen and the walking mall stretch is damn cun. Shops, people, restaurants lump there. We go there almost everyday. We took the train and walked as close as we could to the FIFA 2006 stadium or the Allianz Arena. Its gorgeous white body look like a gigantic half golf ball..There was a game on that day, so we couldn't go in.
Ha..knowing me, there MUST be a segment on food in all my posts..
Finding foood in Munich is so easy and quite cheap. I've had the best pizzas here, cheese, vegietarian, and seafood pizzas, mind you..Even one halal pizza joint owned by this Turkish fella. Delish thin crisp home made pizzas. Also one authentic Turkish joint, where I had kebabs. Other than that I joined the gang to have a taste of the famous downtown restaurants; mainly famous for their good beer. I ordered the seafood dish of coz. They have varied sauces and creams along with the dishes. Hard Rock Cafe Munich is a nice hangout too, with great food and ambience. The merchandise has less variety, altho I still couldn't resist to pick up a few tees.

I stop here. Hope I can visit u again Munchen!! The city which was destined for me..
