Samsoniaku

It's another one. Another Indon band came and left. But while they were here, I screamed, jumped, sang and waved. This time it's the Samsons. Not the Simpsons ya. Samsons, as in Sam's sons, or Samsons & Delilah. They are one of the newest bands in Indonesia. These 5 lads; Bams- vocalist, Erik - guitarist, Aldri - guitarist, Irfan - bassist, Konde - drummer, based in Jakarta, has only produced one album so far. But this one album is enough to rock your world. With the swooning 'Kenangan Terindah', the jumping 'Penghujung Muda' and the catchy 'Dengan Nafasmu', you can repeat playing their album the whole day and never tire. Their music, is a blend of pop, jazz, sentimental, but the biggest element is of course, rock. OK, they are not bad looking either, Bams especially are cute, and Erik is super sweet and innocent in person. Aldri as my gal pal says reminds us of a member from OAG (local band).
Anyways, the showcase rockeddddddddddd! We were at the 2nd row again (too shy to be in the 1st row)..Bams' performance not very friendly although he tried..I think he's a little shy and reserved. But Erik, the main guitarist plays his guitar with intensity, LOVE his facial expressions and style. Konde hits the drums while closing his eyes most of the time..total feeling. Irfan has a wide smile on his face on stage, yeah he is just as friendly off stage. And Aldri also grins all the time. They sang about 8 songs, but it felt soooooo sekejap (short), and tak puas (not enuff!)..as usual. If ya wanna get a taste of da show, just go to this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol0rrB45Fyg. I've uploaded one short clip during the showcase. And here's their Kenangan Terindah vc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYXpuy0Kxpg. We managed to chat with Samsons manager, Icol, who were friendly and very approachable. Icol told us about the band's plan to come back to KL for a bigger concert sometime December. Woohoo. Aand just as any concerts/showcases, after you've experienced their performance, you'll love the band even more, and understand their songs/rhythm much better, as how I am feeling today. Come back soon Samsons! Love ya!
