Ungu Ku

Hi! I have been Ungu-fied this past week. As you've pbbly read in my prev entries, this other indonesia band named Ungu is one of my fav bands in the world. And KL had the privilege of them coming down for a few days for album promo and a showcase. I had great connections (thanks Lyn & Lind!!) whom let me in on their schedule while they were here (including hidden agenda, ok!). And so my exciting adventure with Ungu..begins..
It started with us flocking into Planet Hollywood on a Tuesday afternoon (starting 230pm to be precise) for their first appearance at a meet & greet / press conference session there. I felt like a VIP, as we were one of the only fans there, not to include contest winners, and

of course the journalists. The 1st sight of them took my breath away. I am especially stoked with the vocalist Pasha *grin*. They appeared, they answered questions, and they hung out with us for a bit! Oh my gosh, I got to hang out with my fav band, like we were friends! Snapped pictures, but were still shy to say anything to em. Only were brave to chat with them when we were all at Planet's entrance. Pasha is a friendly and gentle chap. Enda is extremely cool, friendly but a bit quiet and loves the camera. Oncy is so cute and gentle. Hung out with them after the session as they waited for their mobil to swift them to another interview session. That was Tuesday.
Next meet, were at ntv7's studio for the Thursday Nite Live show hosted by Harith Iskandar. We got tickets for this, arrived, were seated on the front row, while seeing Harith joking with everybody. It was the first time I was on a live television show (kinda felt like I was in Oprah..hehe). We got a prep talk by the show producer, who will give us signs to clap and shout, when the time is right..err. The show started, Ungu performed a few songs accapella style which was soooooo sedap. Pasha was in a pink tee and mohawk style hair. Good balance, sissy + edgy. Then, after the show, their manager allowed brief picture taking which we didn't waste of course. Then they were swifted away yet to another radio interview. My pal told me she was on TV coz she sat in the middle of the row. I was on the far left..thankGod.. AND my final encounter with the fabulous Ungu was at their much awaited Showcase at Planet (again). We arrived early, so to avoid line. Was at the front of the line, but still had to wait quite a bit. We were all getting restless, and face starting to oil up with sweat..urgh! Then we were allowed in. Ran to the stage, only got to 2nd row, but thankfully the gals infront of us were shorties, so it didn't distract my view..good2..Their show rocked the house. Pasha is very good with interacting with the audience, and made us all felt special. Enda played his guitar so intensely as if he himself is singing to the songs in his heart..Oncy was harassed a few times on stage by his band members, especially when Pasha asked him to tell the story behind one of the lovey slow song he created. The gals went mad, and even the guys got interested. The band did well. The sound system at Planet though, could be improved. We could hardly hear Pasha's voice, and the sound was not stereo and clear.

Mom said they saw me on Melodi last Sun, for a brief 3 secs..teeeheee! That was during the meet&greet session on Tue @Planet. I was snapping their photos..gees..the reporters even took pics of ppl TAking pics? Well, maybe I was bound to be on TV someday..yeay.. Sigh..I have liked Ungu for quite some time, and couldn't believe I met them (personally!) Argh..I'm so on cloud 19 now, and dunno till when..They are coming back for a bigger show it seems by end year, and till then, I'll cherish the great moments I had with Ungu. Peace out.

A roaming bunny

There's a bunny roaming around my yard. This bunny belongs to the neighbor infront. But they let it loose, just like that siamese cat who hung out our house a few months back. According to mom, this bunny is around our house the whole time, accompanying mom while she's sweeping the porch, hangs out with dad while he's gardening. So the other day, I decided to try to catch the friendly bunny, now called Beanie. But Beanie is a fast one. And so it's left roaming the woods, as I think that's where it is happiest.

The best time to watch em

It's that once every 4 years footie event again. To me, it's the best time to watch good looking athletic men in their best element. I don't have a favorite team (haha coward..), but I have a few which I like to view. Here's some snaps on the teams/players I'll be staring at on TV.
There may be more discovered, which I will add here in time *wink* Alessandro Nesta - Italy
Becks of course - England
Cicinho - Brasil
Cesc Fabregas - Espanol
Joe Cole - England

Pulau Penang

Look at the title, that's not how you pronounce the state, yeah. In BM it's Pulau Pinang and in English, it's simply..Penang, or Penang Island, if u must. But a colleague of mine spelled it that way, and it really tickled me. Anyhow, my office department organised a weekend trip to the island. It's a nice agenda to look forward to, being a 3 day Agung's birthday weekend. Although I was on-call that weekend, I knew I had the whole team with me to back me up, in case of any overloaded work, which thankfully did not happen. Me and Atai left late, as he had some work to do that day. Reached Penang at the hotel at midnight. It was a smooth yet slow (due to traffic before Ipoh) journey. I was thrilled, as Penang and where we stayed was so easy to find. The lunch at the Ship restaurant Penang was quite exciting, as it's a really beautiful full replica of a ship. Coincidently, there was a toy museum set up JUST infront of our hotel, in which we couldn't resist of course. It mostly showcases comic and cartoon character's action figures. Being so near to the beach, we had to take a dip. Thankfully the tiny 'private beach' infront of the hotel was clean and serene.
I'm not gonna talk about the hotel where we stayed, coz it's a

waste of this page (heh)..we stayed at sad old Corpthorne Orchid Tg Bungah. Quite an old and un-maintained hotel. The breakfast is soo bad, the room has broken everything (our shower tap), I only liked the location :-) Anyways after the dip, we packed, checked out, stopped to buy buah pala and limau barli, and had a smooth drive home.

Birthday untuk Eiman

Another birthday. Another nephew all grown up. Even if it's just 7 years old, how they have grown so fast. I feel the joy in watching my nephs and niece in their lovely childhood. It's a tremendous joy when I hear their voices in my ears, while taking my afternoon naps. Haha, they usually visit Sunday afternoon, when the house is quiet. The sudden burst of children's screams and shrieks is an enough doorbell for the grandparents in the house. Another cake to gobble, more food to makan, and lovely gifts to unwrap.. And after that it's outdoors
activity, where cycling is the major event. I wouldn't miss these moments for anything. Check out the chick on the 'basikal tua'.
