Heh, but I just uploaded photos from my digicam that I HAD to share with u..*vomit*..Hehe..Just wanna share regardless of how small the party was, looking at the photos make one feel warm and hungry (check out the cake!). My boo helped me to order this cake introduced by my gal pal, it's called Ipanema from StarBucks! It's a type of moist choc cake. And it's absolute heavenly..(yes I'm a choc cake freak). Yup, glad I discovered this, apart from my other fav Secret Recipe cake - Choc Indulgence :P Oh my kid bro gave a really sweet birthday card which I put on my office desk :) Anyways, getting old is only sweeter when families and dear ones are around to witness it HEHE. Thanks to my mom for having this party for this old hag.. Looking fwd to more birthdays to come..

Happy BirthDay To Meeee

Hiii...can't believe another birthday has surfaced. What's the diff betw this and last? Not much. Even sadder maybe, as I had to tell people what cake to buy. Also screw surprises, I sent the RSVPs myself to family members. Not that it was a big party. Just family who are dear enuff to gather to see me blow the candle. GIFTS! How I luv them, regardless of the occassion. Shower me with them please. Haha. Well let's just get straight to the cream of the cake. I mean the best parts of the day. The food during my birthday gathering was delish. Esp coz Sate Haji Samuri (kajang satay) was served along with curry mee and our very own boiled peanuts (kacang rebus) from our backyard. And yes to my surprise (yeay) I got gifts from my beloved niece and nephews (well, hypothetically their parents got it)! So sweet. I got a set of Estee Lauder's Beautiful body spray and lotion, two teddy beanies (similar to Mr. Bean's!), a set of Japanese shell shaped bowl and a unique and lovely body scrub home-made!. Ah I won't forget to mention a gift received a week in advance and from Down Under, my dear gal pal HS sent me a lovely pair of feather earrings and stockings (sorry didn't snap a pic of it). *Grinning and dancing silly* Loving them.

A taste of England.
Heh, I can get easily amused sometimes. Went up to Cameron Highlands with the WHOLE family past few weeks. Enjoyed the stay tremendously. The whole family as in me, hubby, my folks, kid bro, two elder bros and THEIR families. Yeah, we should've chartered a bus. But we fit into 3 vehicles, where I had to uncomfortably sit at the back seat in the middle..grrr...Arrival to Cameron is just how I'd imagine, the air felt cool and gorgeous. Didn't dress very warmly, but didn't mind as not everyday I can feel this natural air conditioning outdoors. We reached the Shell bungalow, on Bukit Ruil. It's as cosy and warm as in the pictures. A step into it also bring awarm and fussy feeling. As though we are visiting an English family's home. The best part, Astro and DVD players are built in the living room! Hurrah. So we chilled, ate, look at greeneries, visit flower gardens, and drank strawberry tea. I enjoyed the night market.
Got cheap cactus and colorful flowers in full bloom! My inner feminism blossoms here as I happily picked out flowers to take home..ergh..*sneer*.

Simple yet Sweet
OK. Have you been to a wedding so simple, there is no proper altar, no merenjis ceremony (to sorta bless the couple), no kompang (hand drums used to announce the bride and groom)? OK. I happen to be amongst the family that hosts such wedding. Very recently. If you read the previous blog, that is the same couple which we celebrated, but this time the party was at home in Keramat. It was at my late grandparents' house. It's old but cosy and have the best view of Jelatek area.I wore one of my most comfy kebarung. Black was sorta a mistake due to the hot afternoon. I was sweating, gee, I'm starting to repeat myself..Thank God for the occassional breeze that swept through since we were on a hill. Everything which existed was necessary and none was extra. There weren't much excitement or much to look forward to as we waited around for something exciting to happen. But to no avail, it was a quiet and relaxing party, almost just like a Raya open house, where guests came, eat, and left. We tried to make it more 'happening' by playing wedding songs quietly on the background, but that didn't help much. It wasn't anybody's fault, as the party was intended to be that way...mellow and peaceful. As the couple we're celebrating are quiet and religious people. Nothing bad about that I still enjoyed (when do I not?) the company of my dear cousins and the food was not bad. The advantage of being part of the host is you get to keep and take what you want of the wedding knick knacks. And home I went with a handful of bunga telur (boiled eggs in cute baskets - souvenir for guests), and fresh flowers from the VIP table, not to mention several tupperwares of leftover food *grin*

Looking Blue
Weddings are fun to be at. Even if it's not mine. Heh.Recently me, my family and a few relatives AND their family were busy preparing for my cous' Hussein's wedding. Hussein got us all driving up to Jerantut Pahang to grant his wish to ask his wife-to-be's hand in marriage; Atti a small town gal, whom I've never met. I was excited, as this was the 1st time a whole big group of us convoy-ed through Malaysia together in one big happy family. We brought chaos where we went, as my noisy aunties and nephews flocked and were just being their merry selves.
I was just happy to sorta go on a road trips with a hotel stay. Yes we were to do a one nighter before we crashed Atti's home the next morning. The town we overnight-ed was Jerantut. Gosh I could die if I'd live there, as there was absolutely nothing to see or do. We even had trouble finding place for dinner that night. But thanks to my brother who frequented the town previously when he was working in Kuantan, brought us to this nice little cosy thai food place. And were we surprised as the cook whopped delicious thai dishes for the 30 of us in no trouble. I think I had 3 helpings *grin* With tummy all full and happy, we drove back to the hotel, and had a good rest, for tomorow is the big day. The next day, we had to pack up and check out as we came down for breakfast. And boy, was I surprised that the breakfast food served was also good! Imagine having all my favorites such as porridge (duh! normal..), half-boiled eggs, and get this..mushroom soup!!! Yes..that's the sweet surprise for me that morning. I had a few helpings of course. And that morning, we were all like a pack of uniform-ed clad workers in all shades of blue to commemorate Hussein and Atti's favorite color and wedding theme. The drive to Atti's home was a peaceful one, as we headed towards Taman Negara area. With that said, you can imagine the winding road with green hills on our side and big leaves and branches roofing us. And not to forget the majestic Gunung Tahan not too far from our sight. I thought, how cool it was to have this scenery everytime you go home...As we drove deeper into the woods, we realize we have entered a small village or estate area where the folks seem to be expecting us by the look on their faces. On a rainy season, that day was unusually sunny and bright. Trails of sweat started to break on my face to no surprise. The rest of the ceremony went on smoothly although not so comfortably. But it was all good. The formalities have been uphold and done right.
